Fall OPENING WEE WISDOM PRESCHOOL HOPING TO OPEN IN NOVEMBER!
July 29,2020: The mandated closure for Beaverton Schools was extended today until November and Washington County is still in Phase 1 for building use.
Today, WEE WISDOM PRESCHOOL, INC is looking to open in November when mandatory shutdown is expected to be lifted; when we are then able to provide a developmentally-appropriate preschool experience for young children.
At this time, the logistics of just getting the child into the building and following the 26 page list of guidelines in the classroom are just overwhelming ...very little teaching and learning would be going on.
You can read for yourself by going the www.oregonearlylearning.com site: "Emergency Childcare for Recorded Programs and Unlicensed Childcare Facilities" dated June 2020
After long discussions with staff members, we believe the best plan for the children is to wait for when there are lower risks to staff and children and we can offer the learning program they deserve.
I am looking into applying for a small business loan to help keep staff employed and cover lease, insurance and other expenses to keep our business open.
Parents who have enrolled and paid registration fee and last month's tuition may request a refund....OR may just hold their child's place until we can open. Parents who have their child on the waiting list, let me know if you have decided to go somewhere else and I will take your name off the list; otherwise I will contact you when we're opening and you can enroll at that time We have some openings in the 2-day program for children 3 or 4 by September 1.
In the meantime....hold your child close to your heart while reading stories and talking get out for rides and walks, plan activities to help others, notice kindness, teach and acknowledge healthy habits..hand washing, resting, healthy diet exercise, and non-competitive games.
We at Wee Wisdom are committed to having a "happy place to learn:...where young children can play together, do playdough, coloring, cutting, gluing, creating, playing outside, digging in dirt, sensory play, dress up play, science experiments, puzzles, throwing balls, etc; ...this year it's just going to start a little later than usual.
